Dear reader, I had a thought… To explore the world. For a long time I believed the world lay in the places I had not yet reached. So I left. Far from those I love. From home. I learned what I felt I needed. I met extraordinary people and people in suffering. I lived very different experiences, each leaving its mark on me. Quietly, though, the most important journey was taking place inside me. And I arrived there late. Perhaps because I had forgotten how. The rush of every day, the wish to explore, to take in with my eyes what my mind imagined, carried me slowly further and further from myself. The world has places that delight the senses. Landscapes that take your breath away. Encounters that change you. It is wonderful to discover what is around you. But there is a different beauty in beginning to discover what is inside. At some point I chose to stop. With hesitation. With fear. And with a great deal of curiosity. I began to look at myself with the same curiosity with which I had looked at the world. I discovered that within me, too, there are untravelled places. Forgotten corners. Stories that wanted to be remembered. Stories that had long been waiting to be heard. Today I often ask myself: If I were to meet myself for the first time, what would make me curious to know myself? Perhaps that same question belongs to you as well. Explore the world. It holds countless gifts. But do not forget, from time to time, to explore the unseen world within you too. Perhaps all the roads we follow lead us slowly towards a single one. The one that brings us home To ourselves.
